Hey there! Here's a really big update for Train Journey! Most of it is behind-the-scenes changes and tweaks but there are some overt changes as well. The Spanish version is available here on itch or here on NG

  • Tweaked graphics in several areas
  • Modified and added some small pieces of text in various places
  • Made minor level design modifications across the whole game
  • Changed each boss with the exception of the third to use a fixed attack pattern, instead of fully random
  • Changed the king's name
  • Modified some level dynamics in level 4 with a "warp tunnel" to mitigate the tedium of that level
  • Fixed a handful of softlocks
  • Where two pushable pots could get stuck together in the first level
  • Where the game would be stuck if a late-game boss is beaten while it had an upwards velocity
  • Slightly changed the dynamic of the first section of the secret ending for the sake of increased challenge
  • Replaced the challenge to obtain the 5th watch piece
  • Fully redesigned the second section of the secret ending
  • Made the secret final boss less vague in communicating battle info to the player
  • Made certain portions of text unskippable because players tend to spam the shoot button which is also the "advance text" button
  • Expanded the credits
  • Added the ability for the player to choose their ending if they qualify for the good ending, after the first "final" boss
  • Added a couple small easter eggs that respond to certain actions/exploits
  • Make the player and the first "final" boss slide away from each other at the end of the battle so that one doesn't obscure the other
  • Added a proper title logo for the title screen

Bugs

  • Allow the player to pogo jump after falling even if they hadn't jumped before falling
  • Fixed a memory leak caused in level 4 while text boxes are open
  • Fixed a slowdown issue in boss 2
  • Fixed flicker bug with the "flik" stone block enemies from level 2.

- birds in level 1 no now shoot projectiles for a shorter duration

- rockets in level 5 no longer crash the game if you shoot them (no idea how I missed that one before!)

- boss 4's big projectile attack has been made less difficult (again, haha)

- the rocket is now always active when the player is pogoing

- fixed level 4's pages remaining becoming a negative number (again. I swear I fixed this before but I guess not)

- when shoveling, the player now shovels to the side first, and then down

- added a bit of in-game text to clarify that the player can shoot up (yes, there's a story behind that lol)

- I made the pitfalls in the interior of the train more obviously dangerous, since it sends the player back pretty far

- revisited the 5th boss to improve some plot consistency

A spanish translation is coming!!
